WGG News!

Happy Spring and welcome to the 2014 golf season! I am Judy Kishel, the Publicity Chair for Women’s Golf Group (WGG). For the next seven months, watch this space for Women’s Golf Group news, the previous month’s event results and upcoming golf events.

In preparation for this season of new beginnings, the Board of the WGG, led by President Sue Ryan, has worked hard during the winter months to insure that the DCC women golfers will have a great golf season of unique new events mixed with old favorites. Our goal was to make them welcoming, challenging and, most importantly, fun! New this year, Tracy McCarthy, DCC Catering/Banquet Manager, has assumed the responsibility of planning the Spring Social, all Ladies Guest Days and Mini Guest Days. Read her column for event and sign-up details. Please note that there is date change for the annual Spring Social. The new date is April 15th. What hasn’t changed is that the Spring Social is open to all Dellwood women, not just golfers. At the Social, there will be opportunities to sign up for upcoming events like the Traveling Team, the Challenge, the Tri Club, Match Play (Singles and Doubles), Best Ball and new this year, the Solheim Cup. Also, you’ll get to see the latest trends in women’s golf wear, modeled by our own WGG members. Best of all, you’ll get to meet our newest members and catch-up with our “old” friends.

Editor Extraordinaire, Mickey Gahlon, with exceptional design and technical help from Alicia Donicht, DCC Membership Director, have together produced the 2014 edition of the Women’s Golf Group Handbook. Copies will not only be available at the Spring Social but, for the first time, the Handbook will be available online: Click here 2014 Women’s Handbook to view. This handy reference details every WGG event, every DCC event that is open to women players and offers an at-a-glance calendar of these events. When ready, it will automatically be sent to all WGG members.
