On a blustery Saturday morning unhampered by the below zero wind chill; the Women’s Golf Group gathered in Sue Ryan’s cozy four season porch for the first meeting of 2015. Current weather conditions were the least of our concern; we were focused on warmer days and what will no doubt be an exhilarating 2015 golf season at Dellwood! The room was buzzing with anticipation surrounding the improvements taking place with the reconstruction of our clubhouse!

Our 2015 calendar of events is in place. We kick-off April with two very cool evenings planned. April 14th at 6:00 PM will be a Golf Rules Clinic. This is open to all women. If you are experienced, new to golf, thinking about learning the game or if you have ever heard of the game of golf (I think that’s almost everyone) you will enjoy this fun and informative evening! You will learn more about the game and meet women at all skill levels that love the sport.

The second event is the Spring Social, April 21st. This a fabulous evening of food, cocktails, shopping and a fashion show for the enjoyment of all Dellwood women members.

Dellwood’s WGG has been invited to participate in the City League this year. There are twelve clubs participating, with teams of three, playing eight Twin Cities courses. Play will be every Friday beginning May 22nd. Contact Kathleen Callahan for additional information.

Please remember, if you want to be a part of MWGA for 2015, you must submit your own application. This can be done through our membership director, Alicia Donicht.

MGA is offering a Women’s Senior Tour; new this year and open to women 50 years and older. For more information go to www.mngolf.org/seniortour and follow the women’s tour links.

The WGG met socially at Rudy’s January 27th and began making plans for a Spring golf excursion in April. We are considering a trip April 9th – 12th to Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ. If you have an interest in taking this trip, please contact Sue Ryan or myself for additional information.

In closing, I want to share that one of the primary goals of the WGG this year is to connect with every woman in our club whom has an interest in golf. We will be doing our best to reach out to everyone. Our hope is that if you have any level of interest you will reach out to us as well! Stay warm and keep dreaming of green fairways!
