The golf season is fast approaching and the Masters is only a week away. As golfers we are getting excited to get outside and tee the ball up for the 2019 season. With that the new USGA Rules have been a huge talking point as the PGA and LPGA Tour get used to the new rules and the revision of previous rules. Here is a quick reminder of a few of the changes.
2019 Rules of Golf
-Dropping the ball is from knee height now and not shoulder height.
-The search time for locating your golf ball has been changed from 5 minutes to 3 minutes.
-You are now able to repair spike marks on the greens.
-If you make a stroke while on the green and your ball hits the flagstick in the hole, there will be no penalty. This means that you can now putt with the flagstick in.
-You are be allowed to ground your club and move loose impediments in a penalty area (an expanded concept of water hazards that does not include bunkers).
2019 Match Play
