Membership numbers increased again in August. We now have 451 total memberships and 251 being golf memberships (up another 9 from last month). Now is a great time to join Dellwood Country Club. Why? Our current initiation fee is $2,500 but will increase to $5,000 on February 1, 2014 (and could go to $7,500 if there is as much demand as we have had this year). Dues for new members will be waived for six months (October thru March) if they commit to membership through 2014. Members who pay the $2,500 initiation fee also receive a personalized DCC golf bag, $100 credit in the grill and four guest passes. There will be no change in dues for new members in 2014. The next couple months will be the last opportunity to join our club at current rates.
Mark your calendars for the member Town Hall meeting on September 11th at 6:00 in the Ballroom when we will unveil pictures of the Clubhouse renovation and new Pool Complex. We will review the construction schedule and our architect will join us to answer questions.
The pool will close September 3rd. You will have a couple weeks to say goodbye to our old pool before demolition and construction begin. We are waiting for permits and then bids to start the demolition. Our pool has served us very well for many years, but our new pool complex will be awesome. Depending upon weather we expect our new pool to open sometime between Memorial Day and July 4th of next summer.
DCC has added another new member amenity. We have purchased a suite at the Xcel Center for member use. All members will have the opportunity to buy a suite for Wild hockey games and we will be offering tickets on a first come first serve basis for concerts. If you are interested in purchasing the suite for a hockey game you can contact Alicia Donicht in the office. Alicia will send out notices for concert tickets when they become available. Another unique benefit of membership at DCC!
This month we begin our next phase of golf course enhancements. The projects listed below will commence on September 19th and wrap up in mid to late October. Starting September 19th one side of the golf course will be closed Mon-Fri. We will set the nine holes that are open with two sets of tees (should be fun playing from different tee boxes!) so you can play 18 holes. The entire course will always be open on weekends. Projects include:
New mounding already started on hole #16. Trees will be added this fall
Planting new trees on #13, #14 and a few additional trees near the practice range
New cart paths (starts the 19th and should be completed by Oct. 11)
Replacing the bunker sand with white sand, eliminating 11 bunkers and adding 5 new bunkers. This project will start on the 19th and most likely continue through October.
Additional mounding around the greens of the 16th and 17th holes.
Mounding left of the green on #5 and on the right side of the fairway of the 6th hole.
September events:
Women’s Mercedes Championship September 17th
Pro-Am September 13th
Golf trip to Cragun’s September 22nd – 23rd
As always, feel free to let me know if there is anything we can do to enhance your membership!
